Masters of Business Administration (Finance)
The philosophy of the MBA programme is to prepare and equip graduates with general training in cross-organizational perspectives of business and specialized training in career–oriented management areas such as Finance, Accounting and Auditing, Human Resources Management, Marketing and Transport & Logistics. The MBA will further develop students’ understanding and ability to manage business processes, procedures and principles, together with enhancing the student’s critical view of those strategic and operational contexts which make up the modern business environment. Therefore, MBA is designed to produce graduates with the knowledge, skills and potential(s) to become successful managers and business professionals in a variety of contexts which will be beneficial to students themselves, Tanzanian society and in the global contexts. The programme is open to candidates with a variety of background and interests in either general or specific management functional area. However, prospective candidates must satisfy the following minimum requirements: Must have a first- or second-class honours degree of the Open University of Tanzania, or Must have an equivalent degree from other universities or recognized /accredited higher learning institutions

Applicants holding a pass degree may be considered for admission, if: The GPA is not below 2.5; have worked for at least 2 years in an organisation, after graduation and have satisfied the Faculty of their academic potentials through Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT), its equivalent or additional training at a Diploma level and approved by the Faculty Board. Applicants with recognized professional qualifications, e.g. CPA, CPSP, ACCA, etc., obtained through sitting formal examinations, may be considered for admission, if they have, in addition: i. Have FOUR passes in form four examinations and credits of not less than 4.0 points for two subjects in form six education; ii. Have satisfied the Faculty of their academic potentials through GMAT, its equivalent or additional training at a Diploma level and approved by the Faculty Board. Applicants with an advanced diploma in a relevant field (i.e. Business, Management, Accounting, Finance, Auditing, Marketing, Human Resource, Transport and Logistics, Procurement and Supply) of at least upper second class may also be considered. Lower classes will be considered provided the applicant also holds a postgraduate diploma in Business, Management, Accounting, Finance, Auditing, marketing, Human Resource, Transport and Logistics, Procurement and Supply. In both cases, the applicant, in addition, must have worked in a relevant organisation for at least two years.
