Diploma In Youth Development Work (DYDW)
The program intends to trained young people and adults who are interested in working with youth so that they can gain skills to develop young people in the broadest sense, to understand the nature and purpose of youth development work, to relate Commonwealth values to youth development work, to set professional and academic standards by quality in the delivery of services to young people, to introduce students to intelligent reading assimilation, critical judgment, analysis and synthesis of information.

Ordinary Level Secondary Education with 5 passes or its equivalent plus at least two years of experience in youth work
or
Professional Certificate in Commonwealth Youth Programme Plus three credits at Ordinary Level Secondary Education and at least two years’ experience in youth work
orPrincipal pass and one subsidiary at Advanced Level Secondary Education plus one-year experience in youth work
or
A 2-year Diploma or Degree from any field related to youth work plus at least one-year experience in youth work.
The programme is arranged in two levels,Level 1 and NTA Level 2. The programme therefore carries a total of 14 modules where 6 modules are covered in the first year and the rest 8 modules are covered in the second year of study

Upon graduation, successful candidates will be awarded an Ordinary Diploma in Library and Information Studies of the Open University of Tanzania.
Each Module carries 100% marks. Coursework carries 30% of the total marks; final examination counts for 70% of the total marks, as the standard form for all OUT programmes
